Covered Services
As a Family Physician, Dr. George enjoys caring for entire families and people of all ages. She sees pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Membership in the practice includes Primary Care (patient has no co-pays for these services):

General wellness, prevention, and health maintenance from infancy through maturity

Child and Adolescent Health, including school, camp, sports physicals

Preventive and telephone consultations

Office consultations for routine and urgent primary care problems during regular business hours (up to twenty total visits per year)

Routine in office testing (peak flow, strep screen, urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, occult blood, etc.)

Certain routine immunizations (flu shots, tetanus boosters, pneumovax) and injections (Vitamin B12)

Allergy and asthma (including nebulizer treatments)

Cardiovascular care (heart disease prevention, hypertension, and high cholesterol)

Dermatological health and disease, such as skin cancer screening, acne, and rashes. Basic procedures (including cryotherapy and shave biopsies)

Ear, nose, and throat problems
-
Endocrine disorders (diabetes, hypothyroidism)

Gastrointestinal problems, including gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation

Women’s Health, including pap smears, birth control advice and prescriptions, menstrual cycle health, menopause, vaginal and pelvic symptoms, hormone replacement therapy

Men’s Health, including erectile dysfunction, prostate, and testicular health

Common infections
-
Minor trauma and laceration repairs

Neurological problems, including headache and numbness
-
Orthopedic/rheumatologic problems such as arthritis or other causes of pain or stiffness; strains, and sprains

Stress and psychological problems, including depression and anxiety
-
Coordination of travel medicine prevention

Non-Covered Services
- Hospitalizations and in-patient care
- Casts, crutches, splints, heel cups, or other durable medical equipment
- Obstetrical services
- Non-office lab work, including pathology services, cultures, and pap interpretation
- Many immunizations and injections. Coordination of travel medicine prophylaxis is included, but certain special injections may require a separate charge or need to be obtained at the Public Health Clinic).
- Prescription drugs (the prescription is included, but not the actual medication which you receive from the pharmacy)
- Services which in the primary care physician’s opinion should be referred to a specialist
- Surgical services or procedures
- Worker’s compensation claims
- X-rays, EKG’s, CT scans, MRI’s and other specialized testing
Note: These non-covered services are generally provided outside of Renaissance Family Medicine and can be billed directly to your insurance. A few of these services (such as certain procedures and special immunizations) are available at Renaissance Family Medicine, but are not included in the membership fee. These are billed directly to the patient and then the patient will be provided with a receipt to submit to the insurance company for reimbursement.
